But I'll post a meme, sure.

In 2007, cainedna resolves to...
Admit my true feelings to fillerbunny9.
Pay for my cartoons on time.
Put fifty macs a month into my savings account.
Give up travelling.
Learn to play the film.
Spend more time with my video games.
Get your own New Year's Resolutions:

1. Hmm. Nah.
2. Pay? For cartoons?
3. O_O
4. What an awful thing to resolve.
5. This I do need to do.
6. And likewise.

But I have some news. Real news.

I got promoted to the Apple department! I'm like, a real computer salesman! Except, I make more money than your average computer salesman! This is so exciting. This is where I bought my first personal Performa 6360, and my iMac G4. Very exciting stuff. Today will be my last day selling in the peripherals department.

The flip side of this is that I had to switch to full time. Which means taking classes this quarter would be a bit too rough, especially with the holiday season coming. It'll be worth it though. I will make a ridiculous amount of monies.

One other issue I have is my competition for the position. He is a guy who is easily more knowledgable than me, both on Apples and not. He's also been waiting to have the position for over a year longer than I have, and has now been passed up twice. I think he's a good guy too, but I guess he's been having some bad figures as a salesman lately. It kinda sucks, but I wasnt' prepared to give up for his sake.

This also means that I will need to buy a Mac soon. Technically I don't have a Mac of my own to use on a daily basis. I'm thinking one of the new iMacs. I sort of wish they made a 20" model with the Geforce graphics card available for it. I'd be willing to pay extra for it, I just don't need a 24" iMac. I guess it'd take up less space than my current 20" CRT beast on my desk though.

I don't want a standard Macbook, it'd have to be a pro. Maybe I'll buy the demo unit 15" Macbook Pro we have on sale. Arrgh.

Well, it's been a few days since I was robbed, so here are some things I've since learned:

Concerning the bank account, I learned that it was not $400 that they'd gotten, as I'd believed. Since I have a $200 per day limit on my account, I'd assumed that was all they could take. Not so. $900 was taken, four transactions of $200 each, and one $100. I'd had a little over $400 in my account anyway, so I couldn't have imagined that. However, it appears that through using false deposits (one for well over $10,000) and different non-Chase ATMs, they'd taken out a good deal more. The good news? I spoke to the bank, and I'm not being held liable. However, I do wonder if going just under 1K was a tactical move to prevent a certain level of attention from the bank? Or maybe that's all they were able to wrangle.

The police came for evidence. There were a lot of random paper scraps, but the biggest thing might be the pair of malt liquor bottles with someone's fingerprints on them.

My car got a nasty dent on the front bumper from when they "parked" my car back in the garage, but it appears to have somehow popped back out? Is that possible? I really don't know much in that area of things.

My cell phone was in fact taken as well, but I was going to have to replace that soon anyway. The earpiece had been broken on it, so at least that decision has been made for me?

One of my shoes that had the laces taken from it is gone as well, which sucks. I paid a good amount of money for those shoes, and now I have to use my less-comfortable work shoes. Great. The lace in fact is around, which is the oddest part. I don't know why the hell it's gone, but I don't see it anywhere in the garage area.

In all honesty though, I still think I'm lucky. That really is a lot better off than I could have been.

Unfortunately, my brother and his wife were burglarized not two days ago. Among the major things stolen were their laptop computers, their PS2, and a number of important sentimental items. While it's fortunate that they didn't have any danger of meeting up with the thieves, they fared a lot worse in terms of being able to get their lives back on track. Hopefully the insurance will cover everything that can be replaced, and they find those sons of bitches as well. Christina wrote a lot more about it in her blog.

I'd heard a family in Columbus recently has robbed, but the family was home, and two of the family members had been killed in the process.

So.

Be careful all of you out there.

Last week, Katie and I were driving back to my house. I had a big package of bottled water in my hands, and we started walking towards the house. A pair of guys yelled at us to stop.

I shouted "No!" and ran to the house. At that point, they walked away. As we walked in the house, we were both shaking. I felt kinda worried, this was the first time I'd had something like that happen to me. That's called "foreshadowing."

Oh yeah, it's Adam.

So yes. Things have happened in the last month or two, I suppose I should make a record of some of it.

Let's start with my favorite subject, gaming.

Since my last post, I've gotten the modded PS2, got the HD all working and great, and now the HD won't work with it. I don't know why not. Dammit.

Wow.

You know what?

I've been playing games, but I haven't bought any in a while. I think... I'm gonna get Katamari for the PSP. I know it's not supposed to be anywhere near as innovative as the PS2 titles, but I've been in that sort of mood.

Well in other news, Katie and I went to Florida for vacation last week.

What did we do there? We ate.

We also went to Universal Studios' Theme park. We'd been to the Islands of Adventure part of the park last time, so we went to the other one this time.

It really isn't very interesting. We rode most of the rides we wanted to, ate lunch, and went to see Superman.

Superman was pretty good. Not as good as I wanted it to be, but still.

I'd like to see a few less cliffhangers in my movies from now on, please.

So yeah. We ate a whole lot, swam a bunch in the pool, and lounged most of the rest of the time. That's the best way to spend a vacation. It's how I recharge best, personally.

It other news... my car is still not sold. That needs to be adressed. Seriously, if anyone on this list is at all interested in a car, let me know!

Oh! Yeah. I have a new computer. It was a barebones system, but all I needed to buy seperate was the processor. The HD and RAM came over just fine. It's a Gort. Cute little desktop unit, will move it to the entertainment center when I can afford to get a Macbook Pro.

My earpiece on my Sidekick just broke yesterday. Incidently, the Sidekick 3 was just released last week. That's... rude temptation.

As always.

So the Sci-fi marathon was a little over a week ago. Very fun, probably the best film was Godzilla: Final Wars.

In other news? Work has been going well enough. It's still pretty damn embarassing when someone asks for help and you know even less about it than they do. I have gotten rather good at Build Your Own Systems, but of course, that skill is good for about a week before it needs revamped.

This month is also a big camera sale thingy, so hopefully I'll make a decent amount of cash during it. Once I know a little more about these cameras, it will go much better, even.

Katie recently bought a new scooter, I'll redirect to her LJ for details on that. With that however, her family needs the garage space, so they're selling me her father's car. Please take note that I have yet to meet her father. It's a rather nice luxury car, which actually suits me pretty well.

This also means I'm selling my car, the white 1997 Taurus. I don't think anyone on here is interested, but I thought I'd bring it up if anyone was, or knew anyone who did need a car.

I beat Oblivion on the 360, freeing me up to play other games if I choose to play. Overall, I was really pleased with it. I didn't do about 40% of the odd things you can in the game, but I figure I can always come back if I feel like it.

Last week we went to see Hard Candy, which was pretty good. Jon didn't care for it, mainly ending-related issues. I was willing to overlook them myself.

Oh, and I also ordered a modded PS2. I've been meaning to do that forever, but finally had the money and the need all at once. Rather happy about this. I get to play my Gitaroo man once again!

More to the point, how often do I bother?

Well, things have been happening in my life. Good stuff.

Case in point, I got promoted to the peripherals department Friday of last week. It means I make better money, since I'm selling more expensive things. There are two downsides to this, as I see them now.

1. I have to learn about all of this crap, including motherboards, video cards, printers, digital cameras, PDAs, and all of their various models. It's not the worst thing, but there's a lot I just don't know yet. It's coming with time, I have yet another week to get a hold of it all, too.

2. Adam in the Apple dept. mentioned that it'd be nice to have me in the department around the end of the year. I asked why the end of the year, and he said it's not store policy to promote out of a department before 6 months have passed. While I have a lot I do wanna learn before going into Apple, it kinda sucks to know I have that limit imposed. These aren't always written in store I hear though, so mayb maybe this summer/fall I can move into there. Here's hoping.

The new quarter started, and I'm taking a screenwriting class online, and a Freehand class. I know, Freehand is dead pretty much all but officially, but it will be nice to learn to use a vector program well, not just fudging it like a photoshop/layout program bastard.

The weather, as alluded in my title, is getting rather nice as well. It means spring is here, and therefore also...

The 24 Hour Drexel Sci-fi Marathon is coming up next weekend! I'm so psyched. Very much in the mood to do this again. Films will include The Crazies, Godzilla Final Wars, Forbidden Planet, Batman, and the original King Kong. All good stuff.

Outside of that? I guess I'm just daydreaming what this extra cash inflow will do for me. I guess the main thing is that I'll be able to pay off some debt, without going way too close to the limit every paycheck.

On the video game side, I have been playing Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on the 360. I really enjoy it, but it seems to be crashing pretty regularly. I'm really not okay with that. I hope the machine isn't going bad in the drive already. I got the extended protection on it, so I'll be fine but still..

- I plead not guilty to the left turn thing I mentioned last posting, and the case ended up dismissed. Rawk.

- I bought a fancy-pants mouse for my computer. I like it a good bit, but wish the IM and email notifications worked with the programs I use.

- I also bought a less-fancy keyboard. It's a nice design, and I like it even more. It was cheap, USB, and slightly ergonomical.

- In an act of enormous hypocracy, I bought an Xbox 360. I had been explaining to my coworker Nate how overrated I thought the machine was, when Andrey (pronounced as if there were no y,) another coworker told me that one we'd been holding for over a month was available. I'd gotten my referral bonus for John, Chris' brother, so I bit the bullet. I had Perfect Dark Zero already for free from Microsoft.

I like it. It's not replacing the Xbox in any way, especially since none of my games will actually run on the new one yet... but it is a nice system. I got the protetction plan on it though, because MS and Sony put time bombs in their systems.

- Watched a few movies. The only one of note I can recall was Cabin Fever, which was incredible. Oh, also The Hole. I liked that one too. Yep.

- Also bought a flash card device for my DS. With it, I can run DS and GBA roms. It's handy. I will go into the games I've played in a later post. I've also been meaning to go into detail on how all of this stuff is done, and the approx. cost in case anyone wants to know.

Another in a long line of Adam didn't update.

Let's see what's happened.

I started the new quarter at Columbus State, taking 13 credit hours, a bit higher than my norm. That's good. The only bad part is the painfully simple Natural Science course I take on Saturday from 9AM to 4PM, followed by work, usually. Hopefully won't keep going this way.

Watching a ton of anime, as always. Katie and I have been watching off and on You're Under Arrest, Speed Grapher and Paradise Kiss, which I guess she finished last night while I slept. Which is awesome. This is all in addition to the weekly Bleach and Yakitate! Japan. Naruto and One Piece have fallen to the wayside for a bit now.

In gaming, I finished Castlevania: Curse of Darkness on the Xbox. It was pretty forgettable, but at least good enough to finish. That's high praise for any of the 3D installments.

I just finished Metal Gear Solid 3, after having wanted to play it for over a year now. It was incredible as predicted. I would like some more. Please.

I also started Shadow of the Collossus. It's very good at causing moments of lost breath. Really beautiful, challenging, and original in it's presentation.

Every Saturday or Sunday, I've been seeing Jon, and he, Katie and I will watch a movie, sometimes Chris is also involved. Recent titles have been Ichi the Killer, Hostel, Undead, Wedding Crashers, and a few others I can't recall right now.

I got my first ticket yesterday, for turning left onto Hudson from Indianola. Hah.

The people who work the Apple department will be out for this whole week, sadly I won't be able to work in there as much as I'd like, with school and wacky scheduling.

Nyargh. I wouldn't say Xmas is too much of my thing, but I always enjoy the parties and doing gift exchanges. I love surprises, and Katie is awesome at them.

Last night, I did a gift exchange with Katie's family. We got Ieng Astro Boy on DVD, and Katie gave her some aloe lotion. Darren got this cool Full Metal Alchemist pillow, it's just an angry Al head. It's so goddamn cool I can't even say. I ordered a DVD for her mom, but it didn't come in. I'll explain it to her when it does eventually show up.

For Katie, Ieng and I gave her a 60G iPod Video. It's so goddamn cool. Sadly, they don't seem to make cases that fit it well yet. Maybe I'll check the Apple store, but we certainly don't have any at Microcenter. As such, Katie is too terrified to even open it.

Katie gave me a box filled with goodies, including The Witches on DVD, candy, a t-shirt, and best of all, a bunch of super-comfy boxers. Ohh yes. The nylon/polyester ones kick my ass.

When we came back to my house, she surprised me with my anniversary present (we celebrate our anniversary on Xmas,) TalkMan for the PSP! For those who don't know it, it's language software for PSP. The idea is that you can use it abroad, and people can speak into it, and the it will translate it a little USB microphone built in. It also has modes to help you with listening comprehension and pronounciation. It covers Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, and English. It's so cool. I was shocked I didn't get *any* game related stuff. :)

Today I'm going over to Aaron and Christina's thing. Since Katie can't make it, and most of our stuff is combination gifts, we're gonna hold out gifts until the Hannukah gift exchange we're doing at our house tomorrow night.

They're gonna keep me there as long as they can tomorrow at work, so hopefully I can leave by 4-4:30. God I hope the Xmas muzak ends soon.

I haven't updated in a while, but it's alright. Not much happened.

I had guests for thanksgiving, Katie's ICU friends. I wish I could have hung out more, but I was getting sicker day by day.

Oh, I'm still kinda sick. Sniffly and sorish throat. I'm probably spreading my plague everywhere I go, but eh.

Three days ago, I stayed out with Chris, and played Smash and whatnot. That was cool. I got home at 2.

When I got home, I played some Civ 4. It was fun, so I did that to 7. I didn't work the next day, so it wasn't a big deal.

The next day, I woke up at 4PM, and played through Dragon Warrior on my PSP NES emu. In one sitting. It was grand. Grande, even. I then went to sleep.

The next day, I went in to work, and realized my schedule had been changed. I had been due in the day before. I would've been home by the time I actually woke up.

Man. That was *funny*.

My supervisor wasn't in yesterday, but he was today. He didn't say a goddamn thing.

One of my coworkers did the same today, it seems. The difference is that he's still in his trial first three months, and may now be fired. Whoops.

Katie is in San Francisco right now, living it up with ICU friends again. Sigh.

I came down to visit her last night. I don't think I've driven this far without anyone before. It's fun, but always better to have someone with you.

So I'm basically staying in this hotel most of the day. I got some groceries for myself and Katie, and just got some Arby's lunch for us as well. Lots of Arby's out here, as compared to Columbus.

Tomorrow morning I'll head back home, probably arrive in the early afternoon.

I guess it's not the most exciting use of a weekend, but it's worth it to see Katie. I wish I could somehow come down for Friday, and we'd go back in the same car for her birthday, but I don't see it happening. Oh, well.

I also got Gunstar Super Heroes. It's really good, almost as good as the original in a lot of respects, and surpasses in a few others. It's certainly more geared to handheld gaming, with save points between levels, and a level select after you've finished a level.

On that token, that's exactly why I haven't been playing my Liberty Stories on PSP.

Just events.

Work is going as is expected. I'm less tired by the end of the day, but my schedule gets earlier and earlier to combat any adaptations.

Katie is going to work in 'tucky tomorrow, and will be working there for a month. I'm not excited, but I guess it's a good step for her, career wise.

We went to see Chicken Little yesterday, because I love animation. I already don't remember anything about it.

I got three more fish, all Mickey-mouse platies. One died already, and I bet the rest will die when I get home tomorrow, just to spite me.

Wow. I had a party, and people showed up! More than I expected, even. Only about 2 maybes didn't make it, and a number more than we'd planned for. It all went well, aside from Karen getting some sickness in her.

We mainly ate pizza things, watched parts of Three Extremes, and played a kickass board game Jessica brought. When it was down to just a few of us, we played a little Liar's Dice and called it a night. Jon is the only one staying over, and just passed out on the hideaway. I think Katie is coming back as well... :)

I'm pretty happy that it had a decent turnout, nobody seemed bored or upset, and almost everyone even came in some sort of costume! That's really unheard of, especially with my average turnout.

Tomorrow I don't have to work until 2, so I'm not sleeping just yet. Gonna goof off online until Katie shows up, then cuddle with my homicidal bear.
